Marcie combines her love of music and for teaching children together in this nurturing class for young children ages 3-7. Marcie recruited a menagerie of animal and alien friends, and created a ten episode mini-series for young children- with music, puppets, books, and more! Each one fosters social-emotional development, and deals with a different “Big Feeling”.

Description: We will look at the history of journalism, examining its purpose and evolution over time. We will study famous muckrakers who exposed corruption via their in-depth, and sometimes undercover reporting. We will read and analyze credible sources, discuss the qualities and elements of a news story, and write informational articles using different writing techniques. Students will implement the five W’s through research and conduct their own interview. They will endeavor to write a lead and quotes as part of their news story structure.

April Vacation Zoom Theater Camp

What: 12 half hour sessions that happen on the half hour. Just sign in once and teachers will continuously come into the Zoom space, so no need to re-sign in. Sessions will be a variety of acting, singing, dancing, skit creation and art in true BT4W style.
Why: We want to continue to connect to our students and offer quality programming. It’s important to us that we not let the current situation prevent students from accessing theatrical opportunities! We are more dedicated than ever to reaching out to our youth to provide them a space to express their creative voice! This camp also serves as an important employment opportunity for our talented staff during this unprecedented time.
Marcie has been our Rising Stars teacher for our Saturday Stars Program for the past two years. She has been working with children in the arts for over 20 years. She is a licensed preschool and elementary teacher with a master’s degree in Creative Arts integrated curriculum. She has studied at NYU’s musical theatre conservatory and traveled the world as a singer/songwriter.

Jan-June 2020- Kid Frankenstein

Marcie will continue to write and direct young thespians this season, with a production of Kid Frankenstein, (ArtReach Children’s Theatre Plays), through Beyond the Fourth Wall, a Cambridge based production company specializing in youth theatre. The production will include two original songs by Marcie, and will be performed June 13, 2020.
Dec. 2019 – Musical Theater Director
Marcie took a break from her usual Saturday event performances this fall to direct young thespians in a production of Where Do You Want To Go? This musical, written by Marcie, will premiere through Beyond the Fourth Wall, a Cambridge based production company specializing in youth theatre. The show is December 14, 2019. Get TICKETS here.

Marcie has been taking a break from Saturday event performances this season to direct a group of 7-9 year olds in a production of The Magic Treehouse- Dinosaurs Before Dark, through Beyond the Fourth Wall, a Cambridge based production company specializing in youth theatre. Show is June 15th.
2018- Where is Marcie?
Marcie is busy teaching elementary school in Boston, (a third/fourth grade combo class), as well as teaching drama for grades k1-8. Due to scheduling conflicts, her other classes are not available this season, though she is still available for parties, and private playgroups, and will be performing at upcoming public events around the area!!! Come out and sing along 🙂

Starlight, Starbright (6-18 months)
Now a 10 week class!
Little ones are welcome to wear pajamas to this evening session as we use music to channel our energy into the bedtime hour. Includes imaginative play with flashlights and bubbles. Peacefully finish the evening with bedtime stories and make wishes on glowing stars. Sweet dreams to follow. This child-centered curriculum supports the adult-child bond and includes songs, stories, creative movement, flashlight play, bubbles, puppets and more.

In Sensory Play, you and your child will use materials such as paper, sand, water and play dough to explore a variety of textures. Afterschool Enrichment: Elm Street Community School, Cambridge, MA
Marcie’s after school enrichment curriculum for elementary school students balances imagination and creativity with an interdisciplinary approach to hands on, experiential, and task-based learning. Curriculum combines the boundless curiosity of children with guided investigation in the disciplines of engineering, mathematics, literacy, technology, and scientific inquiry. Students enjoy a variety of enriching toys, crafts, books, music, and games to promote socialization, fitness, literacy, and imaginative play. Over the course of a semester, students dig deeply into themes of their choice, and develop their concentration as they become immersed in research and invention. Fun class titles include Music, Dramatic Play, Wizards & Dragons, Mind Craft, Space Robots & Disco Donuts, Stories & Games, and Totally Sick Science.

Adaptive Zumba for Special Needs: H2K Fitness Studio, Arlington, MA
This modified Zumba class is for children with Special Needs, including Asperger’s Syndrome, Down Syndrome and autism related conditions. Slower, modified, low-impact steps and simple arm movements give participants the same benefits as a regular Zumba Class. “Totally Sick” Science (Grades 2nd – 5th)- Incredible hands‐on fun experiments with a mixture you know that your kids will love.
Messy Hands (Grades JK ‐ 1) – Just like it sounds. Your child will have a blast trying new hands on activities that will get their hands very messy such as making obleck and playdough.
Tuesdays:
Dramatic Play (Grades JK ‐ 1) – Explore the performing arts in a developmentally appropriate and fun manner! Students will enjoy theater improv games, puppets, set construction, character development, and more
Afterschool Theater (Grades 2nd – 5th) – Let’s put on a show! Explore the performing arts in a developmentally appropriate and fun manner! Students will work together to create and perform short skits.
Wednesdays:
MindCraft II (Grades 2nd – 5th) – As evidenced by the popularity of games like Minecraft, Sim City, and more, it’s clear that students love to build new worlds. In this program, students will travel via imagination, using Legos, crafts, and more to create a ‘new world’ as a group. Includes some geography and map exploration. Students will name their land, design its geography, set the laws, set up shops, and publish a newspaper. The possibilities are limitless.
Songspiration (Grades 1st – 3rd)- Let’s write poetry, (and raps, and song lyrics!) New and experienced poets welcome!! We will listen to a variety of music and read poetry for inspiration. Have fun and discover that everyone has a natural ability to create poetry and songs.

A playful and soothing session of infant-directed music. Language is musical, and through singing, your baby develops active listening and language skills. As your baby bonds with your voice, they feel your love for them, and security in their routines.
