A Song for Home Away Boston
Steve Birch and Marcie have written this song as a gift for Home Away Boston, a charity that provides free lodging to families with children being treated for critical illnesses in Boston. Marcie was fortunate to perform at Kid’s Music Fest, a benefit for Home Away, (co-sponsored by the Charlestown YMCA and Whole Foods).

More Messy Munchkin Fun!
Glub glub! We explored the ocean deep in Messy Munchkin Art Class with sensory bins and a fish craft. Then we swam underneath the parachute’s waves! The following week we played with magnet and sponge letters in our sensory bins, and crafted the first letters of our names into textured noodle and cereal masterpieces!

Messy Munchkins brought the North End into BabyCakes of Charlestown today!
We washed veggies, crafted spaghetti and tried not to sneeze! On Halloween, we had an icky spooky Messy Munchkin Art Class, with bins of bugs and brains. We made spider webs, built a haunted house, and read a funny halloween story.

This week in Messy Munchkins, we were immersed in the colors of Fall! We read The Very Busy Squirrel, stuck scrunchy autumn leaves to our tree, and painted our own busy squirrels with various textured brushes. Register now for Fall Session II here!

Family Fun Night- Free!
Marcie will perform a FREE show on Thursday, May 29th at Family Fun Night. This event is put on by Smart From The Start, Boston- a family support, community engagement, & school readiness program that has as its mission to prevent the achievement gap among Bostonʼs lowest income children.
YMCA Healthy Kids Day
The Charlestown YMCA on Saturday will hold a free event meant to inspire children to keep their minds and bodies active.
The event will feature arts and crafts, sports clinics and discussions on diabetes prevention awareness as well as a fire truck visit, among other features.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Charlestown YMCA, 150 Third Ave., in Charlestown.
The event is part of the organization’s national initiative to improve families’ health and well-being and will also aim to teach families how to develop a healthy routine at home, according to the Charlestown Patriot-Bridge.

Starlight Starbright Evening Class (Ages 0-5) at BabyCakes of Charlestown
Kids are welcome to wear pajamas to this evening class as we use music to channel our energy into the bedtime hour. Includes imaginative play with flashlights and bubbles. Peacefully finish the evening with bedtime stories and make wishes on glowing stars. Sweet dreams to follow. It’s a play date! (0-5 years) at BabyCakes of Charlestown Brrr it’s getting chilly outside! Come to BabyCakes for some non-stop fun! Our space is a great place to hang out and let your little ones roam free in a safe and kid-friendly environment. When it’s too cold for the playground, gather with friends old and new for play time at Baby Cakes! Children will enjoy a variety of enriching toys, crafts, books, and music to promote socialization, fitness, imaginative play.
